Climate change is increasingly intensifying drought conditions across Pakistan’s arid and semi-arid regions, with Achro Thar in District Sanghar, Sindh, emerging as one of the country’s most climate-vulnerable agro-ecological zones. Since 2013, prolonged droughts, declining and erratic rainfall, rising temperatures, and environmental degradation have severely disrupted agri-food systems, livelihoods, water security, and public health outcomes in the region.
